Hytec has upgraded the Remote Emergency Indication Centre (REIC) system software and display hardware at Wylfa Nuclear Power Station in Anglesey, UK. The system provides monitoring of key reactor parameters on a separate system to the main data loggers and at remote locations. The system was implemented using Vsystem Control Toolbox software, Personal Computers interconnected by fibre optic Ethernet and data acquisition was using existing Solartron IMP modules.

 

Hytec is now supplying it's VME64x Industry Pack (IP) hot-swap carrier card hardware to the new Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in the USA. Our range of Industry Pack cards including simultaneous sampling 16 bit ADC's and DAC's, RS232 and RS485 serial cards, 32 bit scalers and stepper motor cards all come with EPICS divers. This hardware is in extensive use at the Paul Scherer Institute's Swiss Light Source (SLS) and is being evaluated by the new Diamond Light Source in Oxfordshire, UK.

Overview of Hytec's
stepper motor control and drive system

Hytec introduce 500MHz Flash ADC on single width Industry Pack - IP-FADC-8420

Hytec has recently supplied a special high-power, low noise version of its popular Stepper Motor Drive System, the SMDS4, to the SLAC Laboratory in USA.

The particular requirement was for a system which could drive hybrid four-phase stepper motors down 300-foot long cables without producing appreciable electrical noise.

9010 1U Blade IOC Input Output Controller

The 9010 is 1U high rack mounting Input Output Controller with 6 industry pack slots each with a mini signal conditioning cards, one PMC slot and a PC104+ Celeron 400 processor, with Ethernet network (10/100)MHz, USB, 40GB hard disc  and 512 RAM (1GB compact flash optional). As a system component it is available as an EPICS IOC running either RTEMS or LINUX, or as an OPC server. It will also support TCP/IP sockets and HTML web browser access. The functionality of the IOC is determined by industry packs fitted, these include ADC, DAC, I/O, Isolated I/O, RS232, RS485, Stepper Motor Controller and Scaler. In addition a PMC card slot provides access to the wide range of specialist cards.
