CAMAC 142 512K Memory Module Product Description The 142 is a single width CAMAC module containing 512K x 16 bit words of static RAM. The memory is accessed via a single rear panel port on a 40–way double row connector plug. The memory bus consists of 20 address and 16 data lines, data words are clocked into the module by a write strobe, and read from the module during a read strobe. The address comprises 17 least significant bits to address the internal memory, and 3 most significant bits to address the module. The module address is pre–selected 0 to 1 by a printed circuit mounted DIL switch. Thus by interconnection of modules by the memory bus a total of 1M words can be accessed. When the module is not selected the bus drivers are placed in a high impedance state in order to avoid bus conflict. Features
Memory Technology Low power CMOS static RAM is used in order to achieve the lowest possible power dissipation. Battery back–up is provided by attaching a 3 volt battery to the standby voltage input connector when the crate is powered off. Current consumption is less than 500 microamps in the standby mode. Front Panel Indicators Two front panel mounted LEDs indicate when either a write or read operation occurs. These illuminate for a duration of 100 milliseconds when the read strobe or write strobe lines are active and the module is selected. This unit can only be read via a 130 module. Histogramming facility on the 142 is available with the addition of a 130 module.
