CAMAC 210-8 Quad 16 Bit Output Register OD6401

Product Description

This compact cost effective single width CAMAC module comprises 4 x 16 bit output registers that may be used for general purpose data transmission, or for power output driving. Each output can handle up to 125mA in the ’ON’ state, and withstand over 70V in the ’OFF’ state. All registers have a full set of 34 fully decoded function codes, full LAM structure with LAM status read is also incorporated. An output strobe pulse is provided for each register after any valid overwrite command, the delay and width of this pulse may be preset internally in the module. The use of fast, discreet 800mW transistors in the output stages makes them very tolerant of overloads, and withstand continuous fault currents up to 300mA without damage. A special power monitor circuit ensures the outputs turn OFF cleanly on power down.

Features

  • Single width CAMAC module with 4 x 16 bit output registers with data strobes and full LAM handling.
  • All outputs can sink 125mA at 0.35V.
  • Provision for 64 internal pull–up resistors.
  • A single command allows overall enable/disable of front panel outputs.
  • Inverted outputs can be supplied with true read–back.
  • Output control circuit ensures outputs go to glitch free high state during power up/down.
  • Front Panel ’D’ type CANNONS allow efficient connection to crimp–on connections.
  • N Lamp is stretched to 200mS to clearly show the module is being addressed.

Front Panel Connectors

The module has two 50 way single density CANNON ’D’ type connectors, fitted with slid locks. Each has two sets of 16 bit open collector outputs and two sets of input LAM and output strobes. There are 32 output lines, 2 output strobe lines, 2 input strobe lines, and 14 earth and ground return lines per 50 way connector.

Temperature

The module may be used 0 to 45 degrees Celsius. Forced air cooling is advised.

Power Requirements

The module requires +6V at 1.8amps (no pull–ups). If the pull–up resistors are used, +24V or +12V may also be required. Fused power points are fitted to the module. Pull–up resistors fitted internally may be linked to voltages shown below:–

+24 Volts (2.5 k ohms). +12 Volts (560 ohms).
+6 Volts (150 ohms). +5 Volts (100 ohms).

The resistor value in brackets above, is the lowest value that should be used internally. This is due to the modules internal power dissipation limits.
