Product Description

This module, catalogue No. 240, accepts data on 256 input lines and, on command, gates them via multiplexers and a staticising register on to the dataway as 16 bit words. The IG256–01 is a double–width CAMAC module which contains sixteen 16–bit multiplexers, two 8–bit latches (which form a staticising register) and sixteen output gates.

The input is multiplexed into 16–bit words, any one of which, under dataway command, can be staticised in the latches and fed via the output gates to the dataway read lines R1–R16. Using a staticising register ensures stable data output.

The 256 single–ended CAMAC–unterminated (TTL) digital inputs are connected via two 132–way connectors mounted on the front panel. Each input is pulled up to 5V via 4K7 ohms, so contact closure earthing an input will make it logical 1.

Command Structure

The addressed commands recognised by this module are detailed in Table 1. The module is addressed via the right–hand station. All sub–addresses and functions are fully decoded to prevent reponse to erroneous commands.

Indication

A front panel LED indicates when the module is selected via the dataway.
