CAMAC Quad Preset Counting Registers (Q.P.C.R) Type 310, 350 & 351

Product Description

This compact, economical single width CAMAC module comprises of 4–24 bit Read/Write preset counting registers in BCD or Binary, with full LAM, Carry and Overflow structure. All versions have optional input specifications IL1, IL2 either AEC NIM 50 ohm negative current input on both input and inhibit with balanced propagation gate delay times or IL1 standard Schottky TTL inputs. The module may be used to count 4 different signals after presetting 4 different numbers from 0 to 16,777,215 (binary) in the register, and then counting until overflow and LAM. Version available and features are as follows:–

General Features and Versions Available

  • Three versions available: 310, 350 and 351, other than counting input rate and BCD/Binary Registers all are identical as follows:–
  • Version 310 – Counting rate: 100MHz. Binary counting.
  • Version 350 – Counting rate: 75MHz. Binary counting.
  • Version 351 – Counting rate: 75MHz. BCD counting.
  • Inputs: NIM or TTL Link selectable.
  • 4 X 24 Bit Registers with LAM, Carry and Overflow.
  • Overall and Register Inhibit control.
  • All Inhibits, Overflows, Carry and Inputs are front panel RA00250 LEMO connectors.
  • LED Display of each counter first bistable bit.

Q.P.C.R Applications

The 4 separate preset counting registers may also be used as scalers. Fully structured enable/disable LAM control together with overflow, carry and inhibit may be used separately on each register. Internal increment of selected register may be done with F25 command and a F1 Status Read command allows simple LAM polling. All connectors are via RA00250 LEMO sockets on the front panel, also LEDs show the counting and ’N’ line status of the module. A fully decoded powerful set of Dataway commands allow the users to segment the 4 registers as 4 separate modules.

Link Setting Details

The module may be set up so as to respond to either TTL or Negative 50 ohms NIM signals on the counting and individual inhibit inputs. The overall inhibit is TTL only. Each of the four counting inputs and four inhibit inputs may be linked to be either TTL or NIM in any combination. Each input has two links which have to be simultaneously changed. All units are shipped as TTL.
