CAMAC Dual Digital-to-Analog Converters Type DAC 600,620 and 650

Product Description

This range of single width CAMAC modules are designed as precision general purpose dual DAC modules. They have many applications including; interfacing analog computers, CRT display driving, driving X,Y recorders, digitally controlled servo loops, and many more. There are five versions available, they are:–

General Features

  • High precision, low cost single width dual DAC CAMAC modules, cost effective because of wide range of resolutions available.
  • Analog outputs are high speed and high power which ensures correct voltage at output sockets.
  • Short circuit proof outputs.
  • Long term stability is ensured by laser trimmed hybrid micro–circuit DACs.
  • Pen up/down program control and overwrite strobe pulse front panel outputs.
  • Front panel over voltage protection switch to +/–7.5v as per EUR 5100E.

Digital Data Codes

Digital data is 2’s complement binary plus sign bit. Positive full scale is all bits set except sign bit. Zero volts ouput is (+/-LSB) all bits not set. Negative full scale is sign bit set only.

Pen Up/Down Control

This TTL signal available via a front panel LEMO socket is controlled by F28 and F30 commands as a switchable level ON or OFF.

Output Voltage Limit

Each DAC has a front panel switch which will limit the output voltage, even under fault conditions to +/–7.5v. (EUR 5100E)

Digital Strobe Outputs

Each DAC has a TTL output pulse (via front panel LEMO socket) which is triggered after a presettable dealy (30nS to 1 second) after one of the following commands; F2, F9, F16 and F25. The pulse width is also presettable from 30nS to 1 second. Both timing intervals are changed by a capacitor on the CAMAC PCB on link pins.

Output Voltage Range Switch 600-621 Versions

Each DAC has a 3 position lever switch on the front panel to select the voltage range:–

+/–2.5 Volts into 50 ohms minimum
+/–5.0 Volts into 100 ohms minimum
+/–10.0 Volts into 200 ohms minimum
