CAMAC AD70-8 OR-GATED AMPLIFIER DISCRIMINATOR

Product Description

This is a single width eight channel amplifier/discriminator module which combines the outputs of the eight channels into a single Ored output.

Each channel is equipped with a variable gain amplifier and discriminator. The discriminator is programmed by CAMAC commands via the Dataway. The outputs of the eight discriminators are Or–tied together to produce an ECL output whenever the input signal on any channel exceeds its respective discriminator threshold setting.

Front Panel Indicator
N Led which flashes whenever the module is addressed.
Amplifier
Gain 1 to 20 adjustable.
Rise time 20nS for -1V input or unity gain.
Delay 50nS.
Output DC or AC coupled 100nS time constant (PC jumper)
Discriminator
Threshold 0 to +2.5V programmable.
Rise time 2nS.
Delay 3nS.
Hysteresis adjustable.

 

Use of CAMAC Dataway

F0 (A0-A7) Read discriminator setting in range 0-255. Subaddress 0 accesses channel 1, A7 channel 8.
F16 (A0-A7) Write discriminator setting in range 0-255. A0 accesses channel 1 etc.
F25 A0 Update discriminator setting, F16 overwrites new value, F0 reads it back, F25 transfers it to the discriminator input.
Z & C Clear all discriminator setting.
X Generated for valid commands.
Q Generated for F0 (A0-A7) and F16 (A0-A7).
L & I Not used.

Data Format

W1-W8 Define the discriminator setting from 0V to +2.5V.
R1-R8 Define the discriminator setting from 0V to +2.5V.

Power Supplies

+6V at 1A from the mandatory CAMAC rail.
–6V at 1A from the mandatory CAMAC rail.
