CAMAC Video Display Driver VDD 700

Product Description

The 700 CAMAC module is primarily intended for use with MULTI–CHANNEL ANALYSER display systems but may readily be utilized for many other applications. The compatible display equipment is a standard CCTV monitor, giving flexibility for users with respect to size, resolution and cost.

The module contains three memories, each is dedicated to a set of commands that permit random access and full read/write I/O. One memory will contain the current alphanumeric characters being displayed, up to 24 lines of 80 characters, the remaining two are the 1024 x 256 point spectrum pages that may be displayed simultaneously or separately.

Although each channel may only display one point, a vertical MARKER may be displayed in any or all of the 1024 channels. Channels not required to be seen may be placed in a blank area at the top of the screen.

A 4–Bit read/write register is used to enable/disable the various display modes, the codes overwritten will control spectrum display on/off, dual page spectrum mode and cursor options.

The dual spectrum or spectrum comparison mode will allow two 1024 channel spectrums to be displayed simultaneously, thus two points may be seen on each channel. This mode is most useful when advanced MCA analysis is required. Data may be overwritten to memories during LAM synchronised video blank periods to eliminate update interference or directly if required. Channel data may be handled as 8 bit bytes to speed transfers.

HYTEC ELECTRONICS can provide a versatile range of CAMLAB MULTI–CHANNEL ANALYSER Programs that utilise this and many other CAMAC and VME modules, for PDP–11, VAX and PC computers.
