Analogue Output/Input Transition Board VTB 8208

Product Description

The VTB 8208 is a 6U (double height) transition board. Its main features are:

  • 16 summing amplifiers to provide 16 high resolution outputs using two DAC8402 IP cards. 
    Adjacent DAC channels are summed with a 50:1 ratio.
  • Allows outputs to be sensed by two ADC8401 or MADC8403 IP cards
  • Two 50-way connectors (A and B) provide 16 summed outputs with feedback sense wires. A third connector (C) allows direct input to two ADC cards. On-board jumpers allow isolation of the ADC inputs from the sense lines of connectors A and B
  • Excitation,D.C. or pulsed, from MADC8403.
  • On-board DC-DC converters supply output summing amplifiers
  • On board calibration.

Operating Modes


Configuration  

There are three basic operating modes which can be combined to requirements:

1)Summed DAC outputs allow one DAC to set a value which is fine trimmed by a second DAC
2)ADC inputs allow outputs from connectors 1 and 2 to be sensed and read back.
3)ADC inputs direct from connector 3 allow direct use of the ADCs.

Excitation

Two forms of excitation are available:-

  1. 5V D.C.
  2. Programmable current source 0 to +1mA

Connectors 

Three 50-way connectors A,B and C provide 16 single-ended voltage outputs and 16 differential inputs.
