CAMAC Transient Recorder

Product Description

The Hytec TR538 is a single width CAMAC module, which can simultaneously sample analogue waveforms on eight separate inputs at rates of up to 1MHz (1.2MHz external). Each channel contains a separate differential amplifier sample/hold, 12 bit analogue to digital converter and up to 512K words of memory. Each channel is also equipped with a set of registers and a digital comparator for data peak processing. This allows the user to set digital threshold values. When a peak is detected the times from start to "signal exceeds threshold" and to "signal re-crosses threshold" are recorded together with the peak value. These registers can be read via the CAMAC Dataway so that software decisions can be made to read the digitised data or discard it.

Signals to be digitised are connected via 2 pin Lemo connectors. Strap selections allow for digitisation of +/-2.5V, +/- 1OV, +/-25V signals. The digitising rate can be selected in decades from 1 MHz down to 1OKHz. The front panel input clock or on-board oscillator can be divided by 1 or 10. The selected clock is gated to Clock Out so that multiple TR modules can be connected to a single clock source.Digitising is commenced on a front panel signal or software start command and continues until stopped by a front panel signal, Stop command, memory overflow or preset post trigger sample (PTS) count. An increment register (IR) determines the value of the auto increment used in block transfer of data.
