Select and Play - Universal Modules use FPGA technology
Hytec announce the availability of their new instrumentation Input/Output modules using the latest FPGA technology which enable the user to choose from a range of functional blocks to achieve the exact specification required.
Offering a new level of flexibility for the user, the UDM range of modules from Hytec is available in CAMAC and VME form and represents an ideal solution for most I/O applications.
"The use of common building blocks across a range of modules keep costs low and the time to produce a customised solution is minimised", says Richard Tatham of Hytec Electronics. "When the requirements change, the modules can be reconfigured, or updated to meet the requirements of the new application."
An expanding list of functional blocks is now available including: choice of signal level (HLL,NIM,'TTL, ECL), full optical isolation, RAM memory, FIFOs, programmable logic tree, quadrature input decoder blocks, counters, timers, strobes, high current drivers, chatter controller (signal de-bouncer), pattem recognition.
There are 64 input/output channels potentially available for allocation together with control signals. Numerous circuit configurations are possible, typical modules are a 4-channel lOOMHz 32bit up/down presettable scaler with memory or a 64-channel input/output register.
Improved performance, low cost and configurability combine into a very flexible approach for the Hytec Universal I/O Modules.
